Painted entirely from life during a plein air painting trip in the Carpathian Mountains, Ukraine, in 2026, this original oil painting captures a peaceful rural scene bathed in warm sunlight.
A winding country path leads toward traditional village houses, surrounded by lush greenery and trees. What attracted me to this scene was the beautiful contrast between the bright sunlit grass and the cool blue-violet shadows, creating a wonderful sense of depth and atmosphere.
Working directly outdoors, I used expressive, textured brushstrokes to capture the changing light, vibrant colors, and freshness of the moment. The painting was completed entirely on location, without the use of photographs, preserving the spontaneity and authenticity of painting from direct observation.
This original landscape painting celebrates the quiet beauty of the Ukrainian countryside and the unique atmosphere of the Carpathian Mountains.
